Abhyanga, oleation, application of oil to the skin. Not completely translated as Self-Massage, in fact, Abhyanga is really the application of oil to the skin.
You got to try this for a while, you will be surprised how amazing this is for your overall health and to calm your excessive Vata imbalance, such as overthinking, or excess movement.
One thing I could advise parallel to applying oil to the skin is first, watch the video in which I demonstrate how to do it. Second, set apart 10-15 minutes in which you know you will only do this, avoid checking your phone or doing anything different than this. Avoid the habit of disregarding the present moment, because the next moment will be better. Also, avoid trying to feel something out of the practice of Abhyanga.
Just be interested in applying the oil as it is shown. Once or two a week or more if needed, make sure you take time to give yourself a full-on massage, including your head.
On the other days, if you wish to keep some oil on yourself, it is ok if you do the application after showering, in this case, then use less oil and apply it to your skin by “rubbing it in”, which means that by rubbing it on to your skin, the body will absorb it and it will go inside of you.
No worries about it staining your clothes, it won’t, at least that is my experience so far.
Enjoy this practice a lot, this is in reality, Ayurveda being practiced in its essence. As I had told you in the very first video of the course, make sure you practice it, in order to gain all the benefits.
Many blessings,
Leo Cordero
